Jan 28 at 12:30 pm:  dirtybombpdx presents a staged reading of DIRTY BOMB by Rob Newton. At the edge of ground zero, a Mother, daughter, brother and lover find each other and find it’s not so easy letting go. DIRTY BOMB, the gift that keeps on giving. (see the fully staged World Premiere at Conduit, info at dirtybombpdx.com)

Jan 29 12:30 pm Portland Gallery Playwright’s Group presents a variety of short plays from Amy Doherty, Sven Bonnichsen and Marguerite Scott. Sven gives us two offerings:  The Buried Piano and The Astronaut and the Nude.  In the first, a girl is reunited with a family friend while a massive party for her father’s election bid booms in the distance and a recently unearthed, antique piano rests near their feet.  The second play is a metaphysical exploration of marriage, nakedness and the cosmos. In Amy Doherty’s A Touch of Cleveland, we (along with the cardboard cutouts that look on) are party to a Laundromat encounter between two people, each awkward in their own way.  Marguerite Scott’s The Ugly Duckling demonstrates the opportunities that come (and go) with plastic surgery.

Jan 30 at 12:30 pm. Portland Gallery Playwright’s Group presents 3 short works from PSU professor David Holloway (Counterparts, Death Panel and The Egg) that connect abduction, death, dreams and family, including a butterfly stick-pin, an insurance company death panel and a cosmically important Egg.

Jan 31 at 12:30 pm: The Well Arts Institute presents Everything New Again is Old, a series of staged readings from work in progress developed with Elders from Friendly House, Emerson House, Terwilliger Plaza and Summerplace.
